About Countryside K-9 Doggie Daycare

Our mission at Countryside K-9 is to provide a safe and stimulating open-space environment where your dog can socialize and exercise with other pack members – both dog and human. The dogs in the Countryside K-9 pack are medium and large breed dogs who play well with others and who love to be outside running, swimming, climbing, playing, or just hanging around with their canine and human friends.

At Countryside K-9, we know that your dog is a cherished member of your family, and we strive to provide every dog with as much love and attention as possible so they (and you) consider us their "home away from home." Your dog’s health and happiness are our number one priority.

If you’re away from home all day or just can’t give your dog the exercise and stimulation he needs, consider making your dog a member of the Countryside K-9 pack. It's a great way to keep your dog happy, healthy, and active.

About the owner:

Sandra Gomes is a life-long dog owner who shares her home with two black labs. Her passions include dog training, dog behavior, and lab rescue. She is an American Boarding Kennel Association certified Pet Care Technician and is also certified in pet First Aid and CPR through the American Red Cross.

After many years as the owner of her own personal training business, Sandra chose to pursue her true passion: dogs. She established Countryside K-9 in order to provide a safe and homey environment for dogs who, due to the hectic pace of their owners lives, would otherwise be left home alone all day.

Sandra believes strongly that the key to having a healthy and happy dog is to provide them with the exercise, stimulation, and socialization they need. Many dog owners don’t realize that dogs are in fact more social than humans due to their natural evolution as pack animals. Because of this, many of the behavioral problems experienced by dog owners – excessive barking, destructiveness, and hyperactivity, for example – are due to the dogs’ natural needs not being met. Loneliness, lack of stimulation, and not enough opportunities for exercise can cause an otherwise perfect dog to develop negative behaviors that cause stress and disruption in their owner’s lives. Sandra knows that the majority of these behavior problems can be solved by giving a dog adequate time for physical activity, positive mental stimulation, and the crucial pack experience that is lacking in so many dogs’ lives today. Sandra has seen the success of this philosophy in her own life. Her rescue lab was surrendered due to bad behavior. The dog had been tied up outside – alone all day – and was not given time for play and exercise. By providing her rescue with proper exercise, socialization, and stimulation Sandra has been able to successfully rehabilitate a dog who was considered a problem dog by her previous owners. Sandra knows that there is no such thing as a bad dog – only dogs whose naturally evolved social, mental, and physical needs have not been met.
